this week news
This past week I have mainly stayed on the University of Arkansas campus as students have moved in with their parents. A week of helping students get settled in before Fall Classes begin 17 August. Three stories that I want to share from this past weekend at Antioch Church we had a couple people from U of A check out Antioch.
One of the new guys’ names is Gavin, a student of architecture and design and so we connected right away because of my other guys are in that program. I connected Gavin to my upperclassman friends and hes excited to build, design and create. Gavin also said that he is excited for what God is doing in this city and the ministry element.
The second story is of the University of Arkansas’s Welcome Back bash where the greek life staff member and I got to pray for the new girls and guys that are going to come into this special greek life, to find community but also find relationship with Christ. CruGreekWide and Boomsauce Ministries teamed up this past weekend giving out ribbons and praying for the girls as they had rush this past week. We even connected them to upperclassmen.
I've also met a lot of guys this past week that have moved here not just for school but the community. I believe students our coming to this city because of the University’s good programs but also the relationship aspect. Relationships lead to community. I decided knowing that I wanted to connect the guys and so I made a group chat with all the guys. It has already been beneficial.
I have met three guys who want to be Nurses. I share my story with Logan, Christian and Will. I also told them while living in Seattle I had a friend Noah who is a Nurse.
Pray for the students at University of Arkansas, and across the country to encounter and grow in understanding of Jesus and God. Students are living as disciples are discipling. More than one student has shared a prayer request to pray God will move this year to change the heart of a friend or
family member.
Pray I continue to listen to the voice of God as He leads Boomsauce Ministries and the encounters we share with students and young adults in the Fayetteville community. Continuing to help students know that relationship leads to community and they can have confidence in who Jesus has called each of us to be, A CHILD of God.
