(Crashing into your True Identity and walking into who Gods called you to be)

I met Carson last April walking past the fountain at the union. He was wearing some high fashion. d

I was serving coffee and if I remember we just finished the coffee boxes (we still were in early stages of our ministry, so we were still developing what the ministry is today). Anyways, I threw the coffee boxes away and saw a student with red hair and a boogie backpack, a sweatshirt, and a hat (Carson) and I was then like, "Hey, how are you? I just wanted to tell you that I like your fashion," and then I started telling him how I have lived around the world and developed fashion.

I also informed him how before I was born I had a stroke and so I have a disabilty. Growing up was hard but what got me through it was doing weekly coffee hangouts with my mom. Weekly coffee was what made me love growing up. After I graduated high school, I told Carson, I moved to Colorado, where I picked up more fashion/boojieness and that when I returned to where I grew up and got plugged into a college ministry through my community college (CRU) and that where the word Boomsauce was born. During my time in CRU I felt called to go do an internship with them in Australia and so I did. I told Carson that I picked up even more fashion and

ultimately got even more addicted to coffee there. So, after I got back to America I moved to Seattle and worked at a coffee shop, WOODSCOFFEE. It reminded me of my time growing up and doing weekly coffee with my mom. From that job experience and getting plugged into a few church communities where I knew and personal friendships with.

the pastors and I felt at HOME. I started to have an idea to bring evangelism and coffee together and help students know our true identity is in CHRIST. God told me to start this ministry in Fayetteville, Arkansas.

Since meeting Carson and sharing my journey Carson was also looking for purpose, identity, and fulfillment. He told me his parents go to church but are not really believers. He started to look for community when he moved to University of Arkansas but he didn't

have any push or people. He said he got baptized the week before we met, which was crazy.

Fast forward to after I met him outside at coffee evangelism: we started walking faithfully together every week for ALMOST the last year and his really grown in understanding that were created as children of God and were redeemed and valued. God desires us to know him, and he gives us strength and joy, peace and fulfillment.

Carson and I go to college nights together just like Luke and I do. Carson also has gotten hungry to not just learn more about Jesus but to learn about evangelism. Additionally, he has been helping out with the coffee evangelism tent every week, which has been cool.

From Carson,

I would describe Boomy as one of my best friends and one of the most spiritually hungry people I know. I have known him for about a year now and every day I spend with him I begin to feel closer and closer to the Lord. His love for the Lord and his constant hunger to serve Him has been one of the most encouraging influences in my life. He continues to fill me with the want to know God and he does so by showing me who God actually is and who He has made us to be. Lately me and Boomy have been discussing our role as servants to the Lord and as it is our duty to serve, Boomy has reminded me through John 15:15 that we are not just servants of the Lord, but his friends. And this idea has helped me to develop a deeper relationship with the Lord and it’s something that Boomy demonstrates so well. Along with spiritual discussion and positive encouragement, Boomy has helped me to develop my hunger and boldness for the Lord. In my time knowing him I have gained experience and confidence with evangelism at the the Boomsauce tent, so much so that it has encouraged me to serve more in my local church. Boomy has poured his heart into me and the other guys involved with the ministry and it is something that we greatly appreciate. The Lord continues to provide him with opportunity and boldness to keep growing his ministry and through all this growth and change Boomy continues to place his focus on giving all praise to God. Boomsauce, and it’s HOME acronym, reminds us of who God actually is and all that he calls us to do and I am so grateful to be a part of it!
